Directions for APT Assembly

Remove the APT from the box. Locate the direction tab. ( This is the black wheel on the right side of the APT). Turn this black wheel, the direction tab. Now the height of the APT can be adjusted to its desired height by lifting up. There are 4 Height position options. Next CLOSE the black wheel to lock the APT at this height preference.

NEXT, connect the gray discs onto the black arms found on either side of the APT. Note the gray discs must be put with the center facing outward, so they can smoothly fit into the designated tracks.

After installing the discs, attack the APT Sensor to the designated spot in the gray disc.

Now choose whether handwork or leg work.

LEGWORK

Take the pedal and connect it to the black arm on the side of the APT by pressing in on the GOLD screw that is facing away from the APT.

Now push the pedal inward by constantly pressing the golden screw until it is caught on the base.

It is recommended to first place the pedal into the closest hole to the turning axis of the APT (hole closest to the center of the gray disc)

In case you sense difficulty pedaling later on, connect the foothold to the next hole going up.

If you opt to use APT for legwork, you may want to place the device against a wall to prevent it from moving during use. If you are unable to place it against a wall, use the black straps that came with the box. Take the strap and put it into the designated location on the near side of the APT’s legs. Pass the strap through the hole and around the chair legs to bind them all together.

NOTE:

For legwork, to help the user maintain parallel motion, there is a calf- supporting apparatus available for purchase

Handwork

For handwork, take the handle and connect it to the black arm on the side of the APT by pressing in on the gold screw that is facing away from the APT. Now push inward by constantly pressing the golden screw until the handle is caught by the arm. If you are using the APT for arm work, place the APT on a table and adjust the height to make it comfortable to rotate your arms while sitting down.

NOTE:

In case the user is unable to grab the handles, there are special gloves that harness the patient to them (hemiglove)

POWER:

Take the four hole plug and connect it to the bottom of the APT. Push the plug all the way in. Secure the connection by turning the silver ring until it stops. Note that the plug has a connecting groove that is meant to connect the node in the APT socket. This way, you can ensure that you have properly connected the plug. Connect the power supply to the battery and turn on the battery. There is a switch on the battery to open and close the flow of electicity.

RED button

Turn the emergency switch on the APT. To do so, turn the black ring, located on the top of the APT, clockwise until the red button pops out. The APT will not work if this button does not pop out. The APT is now operational.

WHY?

This is the emergency switch. To stop the APT in an emergency just push the red button down.
