Why did I, Jill Shoshan, start the EZ4 Life Scooters, LLC?
Our Story
Twenty-five years ago, I woke up unable to walk. After numerous tests and a week in the hospital, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis—a disease that changed my life dramatically. I, Jill Shoshan, a young mother of three, found myself fully reliant on a walker. Determined to regain my independence, I worked with a physical therapist for months to rebuild my strength and balance, eventually overcoming the need for a walker. While my journey to recovery was long, I’m fortunate to be among the few who’ve returned to a modified, yet active, lifestyle.
As my recovery progressed, I faced new challenges. Once I was no longer eligible for home therapy, I struggled with embarrassment and self-consciousness about my physical limitations. These feelings kept me from entering a gym, where I could continue my rehabilitation. I wondered, if I was too uncomfortable to go to the gym, how could I continue my recovery? That question stayed with me for years.
I became deeply aware of the struggles faced by those with physical limitations. I began to notice people using mobility aids like walkers, scooters, and wheelchairs and wondered how well those products were enhancing their lives.
When COVID-19 hit, I once again sought a way to maintain my strength and mobility from home. A friend introduced me to the APT-5, a rehabilitation trainer that allowed me to exercise in a way that accommodated my needs. With its passive mode, my legs cycled effortlessly, and as my strength improved, the machine adjusted to meet my progress. It was exactly what I had been searching for.
After connecting with the company behind the APT-5, I realized I had found my calling—combining my passion for helping others with my professional background. This led to the creation of EZ4 Life Scooters, LLC—a company dedicated to providing products that help people live more independently and confidently. I understand firsthand how transformative these products can be, and I’m proud to offer solutions that make a real difference.
